Descriptive Mapping Support

Until recently, creating a mapping has required that users known the internal name for an model used by the game. For some systems such as VBS, you could infer the type of a model from this text, for others such as Steel Beasts this is just an opaque number. As of this release we have updated the Web Interface so that in each mappings field it now shows a descriptive name for each model, followed by the internal type. Auto-completion for all fields has been updated to search the text you have entered against the list of all available game types.

Incoming / Outgoing Indicators

To help users quickly identify the origin of entities at a glance we have added a badge to all entity icons showing whether they are incoming (from the simulation network) or outgoing (being pushed to the simulation network). This badge is shown in the entity state list as well as the details page for each entity.

Recent Events Page

Integrating two or more systems is rarely simple and requires a broader focus than just the ability to identify mappings that are missing. It is common to need to change existing mappings in order to realise alignment across many systems. The problem is that valid, but perhaps not desired mappings do not generate easy to spot errors - they are valid after all! With LVC Game v3.14 we've added an Events page, initially with munition support. This page contains lists of the last five types of munitions that have been witnessed on the network or in the game so that you can easily identify the types and then go forward and make changes to their mappings as required.

Entity List Filtering

In the large exercises supported by LVC Game it can be difficult to pinpoint particular entities in the Entity List. With this release we allow users to filter entities based on whether they are incoming, outgoing or unmapped (or any combination there of!). This lets you narrow down the set of information you are looking at to just those that are relevant to your interests.

Unmapped Entities Page

Taking things a step further we have added an Unmapped Entities page. Building on the concept deployed in the Unmapped Munitions page, this section shows user a complete list of all entities for which a mapping currently does not exist, letting you make adjustments in real-time. We've added an extra field that shows when each entity was last updates. Sorting on this field allows you to quickly identify individual entities by moving them in the simulation and watching them pop to the top of the list. From there you can enter your mapping (using the new descriptive name support) and you're done.

Steel Beasts Updates

Steel Beasts, by eSim Games is a popular armour trainer and used by militaries around the world to provide realistic training environments. With this release of LVC Game we have completed a number of improvements directly targeted at Steel Beasts users.

In addition to all the Web Interface updates highlighted above, we've also updated support to the latest public release of Steel Beasts, v3.165. This release contains a number of fixes requested by the LVC Game user community. We've also added a UI-based launcher for the LVC Game for Steel Beasts application.
