Getting Attached to the VMSA

Calytrix was engaged by the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) to develop a Streamer Federate for use within their Virtual Maritime Systems Architecture (VMSA) framework. The Streamer was designed to simulate the behaviour of one or more towed arrays, usually attached to ships or submarines. This Streamer Federate was designed for the VMSA using Calytrix SIMplicity.

Tight technical constraints in framework design and software dependencies have made this project challenging in its implementation. In effect, Calytrix technologies provided a number of suggestions in regards to the architecture model of the streamer, as well as lateral solutions related to the technical issues bound to the target software platform. With a strong channel of communication established between the DSTO and the Calytrix staff and with the domain expertise of both parties, the Streamer federate was successfully delivered on time and budget. </section> </article>
