US Army Selects Game After Ambush Solution

Calytrix Technologies (Australia/USA), in partnership with Bohemia Interactive and Laser Shot Incorporated, are pleased to announce the contract award for a major new U.S. Army training program known as “Game After Ambush”.

The Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEOSTRI) awarded the contract to provide an enterprise level license to the U.S. Army for a desktop training simulator. Bohemia Interactive’s “Virtual Battlespace 2” (VBS2) is the base platform for the Army’s needs. Laser Shot’s “Tactical Weapon Simulator”, and Calytrix’ “LVC Game” and “CNR-Sim” for VBS2 are also included in the software to provide versatility to the Army’s efforts for desktop simulation, as well as the ability to integrate training devices and interface with other simulations.

Laser Shot, Inc. was selected as the Prime Contractor for the production, fielding, training, software updates, technical support, and web portal, in support of the Army’s efforts. Bohemia Interactive and Calytrix each provide crucial pieces of the overall product and delivery teams.

Laser Shot’s President, Christopher Chambers, said “Our Company has extensive experience in supporting training for the soldiers of the U.S. Army, as do our partners Bohemia Interactive and Calytrix. We will provide the absolute best product and service to the U.S. Army in the “Game After Ambush” effort. Our team is primed and ready to pull the trigger on a comprehensive delivery and support strategy".

Shawn Parr, Managing Director of Calytrix Technologies, stated “Calytrix is pleased that we can bring our extensive expertise in systems integration and training solutions to this team. Calytrix currently works closely with Bohemia Interactive to deliver a number of the crucial technology components used in the “Game After Ambush” VBS2 solution and we are looking forward to supporting the US Army”.

Peter Morrison, CEO of Bohemia Interactive Simulations, stated “We are confident that the technology and features of Virtual Battlespace 2 will serve the U.S. Army superbly as the “Game After Ambush”. We have previously issued a number of enterprise level licenses to other armed forces, which has given our company unique experience in developing and refining our product. VBS2 is, without a doubt, the best military grade game-based simulation on the market today".

The VBS2 desktop trainer has already established a strong reputation as the worlds most flexible, fully interactive, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), three-dimensional tactical training and mission rehearsal software tool. Based on its flexibility and ease of use, Enterprise-level VBS2 and LVC Game usage has already been instituted by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Thousands of other VBS2 and LVC Game licenses have also been procured by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Special Forces, and other domestic and foreign armed forces.

The contract award provided for fielding and training for the “Game After Ambush” and other associated tasks, for one year and four option years. The Army will kick off the effort in January 2009.
