ADVANCED FEATURES

Above the many features we have already described, SIMplicity supports a number of advanced features:

• Support for Dead Reckoning. Dead reckoning is a technique used in HLA to reduce the amount of data traffic being sent through the RTI. SIMplicity allows you to visual model your dead reckoning and regenerate your federates without impacting your simulation logic.
• Dynamic Data Management (DDM). In a complex simulation where a vast amount of data is generated, it is sometimes necessary to rationalize data transfer to maintain acceptable performance using DDM. SIMplicity supports DDM through its visualizations and in the federate code.
• Initialization data Sets: Create initialization data sets for your federates. These data sets are packaged and deployed with the federates and loaded at federate startup.
• Save and restore: Using the SIMplicity API you can easily implement 'save and restore' and many other advanced HLA features easily and quickly within your federates. And because SIMplicity isn't introducing a proprietary service layer you can always grab hold of the RTI handle to make direct calls if the need should arise.
