Viewing LVC Game only as a DIS/HLA interface is an incomplete view. DIS and HLA are simply LVC Game's currently supported networking protocols. LVC Game's advanced capabilities include:
- Support for additional networking protocols
- Support for additional HLA FOMs
- Simultaneous operations using both DIS and HLA
- Software Developer's Kit (SDK)
Support for additional networking protocols: LVC Game could be extended to support other middleware environments. If your needs extend beyond DIS and HLA, contact Calytrix for details about extending LVC Game to support your environment.
Support for additional HLA RTIs and FOMs: Calytrix can extend LVC Game to support other HLA RTIs and FOMs. To do so, Calytrix needs the RTI's or FOM's technical description. Contact Calytrix if want another RTI or FOM in LVC Game.
Simultaneous operations using both DIS and HLA: LVC Game's intrinsic networking abilities include simultaneous operation on both DIS and HLA. External gateways are generally not required.
Software Developer's Kit (SDK): Calytrix works with selected Development Partners to integrate LVC Game with their applications, thus enabling more and more 3rd party products with DIS/HLA compatibility plus LVC Game’s other services. Calytrix can supply an Application Programmer’s Interface (a C++ API), sample code, and detailed documentation to permit integration of a new 3rd party product with LVC Game. Our experience has shown that integration can generally be accomplished with a level of effort of roughly 3 man-weeks.
