Calytrix Catches GOANNA

Building on its proven track record, Calytrix is pleased to announce that it was just named the successful bidder on the GOANNA project for the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO).

The objective of the GOANNA project is to develop an infrastructure that allows Defence to make more effective and efficient use of industry efforts and IP in the development of new and enhanced capabilities for the Collins class submarine Combat System (CS) (Tactical Command and Control (TCC) and SONAR).

The GOANNA environment intends to provide for a much more rapid identification, assessment and development of potential system enhancements through the use (and indeed re-use) of Open System COTS solutions and through the engagement of a wider industry & academic pool. Similar open architecture approaches in the US (ARCI) and UK (GOA/DeRSCI) have also shown a substantial potential cost saving to their respective governments.

Once fully delivered in early 2006 the GOANNA environment will provide a means for industry and academia to experiment and improve the capabilities of the Collins class submarines. </section> </article>
