Software Engineer – Simulation Systems Integration - Dayton, Ohio, USA
Calytrix Technologies is a Training and Simulation company that specializes in delivery of software, systems and services to the defense community. Calytrix maintains offices in Australia and the USA. Our simulation services include integration of tactical 3D games, development of simulation frameworks, and support to military training activities.
We are expanding our office in Dayton, Ohio and extending our US-based engineering capabilities and technical support to our major customers, including the US Army and US Marine Corps. We are looking for an outstanding Software Engineer with simulation experience and integration skills. This position will require someone willing to do a wide variety of technical tasks with good customer interface and support skills.The ideal candidate will possess both strong technical abilities as well as good rapport with customers. The position will encompass a wide variety of activities, from software development, testing, customer support, site visits and conference attendance. The position calls for a self-starter who is comfortable working in a small and dynamic team environment.
The successful applicant will have:
- a minimum of 2 years experience in C++,
- excellent knowledge of OOP and Software Design practices,
- a firm grasp of the Software Development Lifecyle,
- a thirst for new challenges with a proactive approach,
- ability to communicate and work in a small team, and
- excellent communication skills especially with military customers.
Experience with the following will be highly regarded:
- Visual Simulation, DIS/HLA, distributed systems, 3D terrain
- Virtual Battlespace 2 (VBS2) and other serious games,
- JSAF, OneSAF, JCATS, and other constructive simulations
- Java, C# or other OO languages
- SQL and relational databases
- GUI design and web based technologies
- Software testing
- Multiple operating systems, e.g. Linux, Apple iOS, Android
Calytrix offers a flexible and casual working environment with close support from a team of multi-disciplinary, casual (and occasionally eccentric) engineers. Some national and international travel will be required to attend trade shows and conferences and visit customers. We offer a very competitive salary package and benefits.
